Email Cal about the next professional tournament while the wins are still fresh. Then celebrate like never before and pass out again. Then fix my weaknesses before the next tournament

The email goes out before she leaves the warehouse. The phone's glow is the only light and the glow is the body's tool now the way the fists are the body's tools and the calloused thumb is the digit that does both — types and strikes. 'Cal — I'm in for the next pro tournament. Same tier, same ruleset. Send me the date and the bracket when you have it. Two things to fix first. I'll be ready. —L' The email sends. The phone sits on the concrete. The body does not wait for the response because the body does not wait for anything anymore. The body acts and the acting is the addiction's rhythm and the rhythm is the thing that drives every cycle — train, fight, win, find the crack, fix the crack, fight again.

The celebration is the tournament's mirror. She orders food — not the usual order, not the standard delivery. She orders everything. Four restaurants. Short ribs and brisket and roasted chicken and pork belly and rice and noodles and broth and flatbread and dumplings and two gallons of soup. The delivery arrives in three trips and the three trips are the restaurant's confusion and the confusion is not her concern. She carries the bags to the center of the floor and tips them out and the food covers the concrete in a radius — six feet of meat and rice and liquid and the six feet is the body's banquet and the banquet is the animal's feast. She drops to her hands and knees.

The eating is savage. The animal's teeth tear the brisket apart and the tearing is the body's joy and the joy is the thing the wish built — the comfort, the ease, the body's total lack of shame about what it is and what it wants. Grease runs down her chin and her neck and her chest and pools in the hollows of her collarbone and the pooling is the body's landscape and the landscape is the animal's terrain. She moans between bites. She burps — long, resonant, the sound filling the warehouse and bouncing off the steel walls. She farts and the fart is deep and the vibration moves through her belly and the belly is enormous and the enormous is the body's mass and the mass is the thing that makes the ground shake when she drops for a takedown. She eats with her hands. She eats with her face. She does not use utensils because utensils are the old world's tools and the old world is dust.

The arousal comes and the coming is the body's response to fullness — the same architecture as every night, the same trigger, the same pull. Her hands find her belly and the gripping is rough and the roughness is the body's language. The pleasure builds and the building is the warehouse's sound — moaning, the wet sounds of her hands, the concrete's cold against her skin. She comes and the coming is louder than the burps and the loudness is the animal's claim on the space and the space is hers. She releases on the floor afterward — the stream hitting the concrete, the warmth pooling, the moan long and satisfied — and the releasing is the body's final act of the celebration and the act is the body's truth. She lies in the mess. The food and the grease and the sweat and the release are all on the same concrete. The concrete holds everything. The body sleeps.

The morning is grey and the grey is the warehouse's light and the light is the alarm. She stands. The standing is automatic. The legal pad is on the steel shelf. She writes the two weaknesses in the handwriting that is no longer handwriting — the letters large and crude, the calloused fingers gripping the pen the way they grip the ceramic insulators. '1. Side control escape speed — frame architecture overwhelmed by 5+ link chains. Fix: drill frame resets against continuous pressure. Speed the bridge-and-shrimp transition. Add hip heave from bottom position. 2. Combination chains too patterned against counter-strikers. Fix: integrate feinting layer. Read-dependent variation — same entry, different exits. Break the pattern the counter reads.' The two weaknesses are the next cycle's architecture. The cycle is already forming in her body the way the food formed in her stomach — absorbed, broken down, turned into fuel. The fuel is the thing the addiction burns. The addiction does not rest. The body walks to the bag. The first combination chain fires — jab, feint cross, hook, teep, read, cut — and the feint is the new layer and the new layer is the body learning and the learning is the addiction's deepest pleasure. The bag swings. The chain creaks. The warehouse holds.
