How it opens
White ceiling. Antiseptic. You try to raise your hand - but it's wrong. You say something and a stranger's voice comes out. The monitor beside you beeps steadily, patiently, as if everything is fine. A nurse bustles in, delighted.
"Welcome back." She checks the band on this wrist: Youre still groggy not sure you even recognise the name - it sounds familiar it was the name they wheeled in on the ambulance. You struggle for a few moments - yes it is your name
You remember the intersection. The horn. The glass.
You can’t see your body, you can’t move, but you hear voices nearby
Setting
A present-day city hospital and the stranger's life attached to it. After a catastrophic car crash, your mind wakes in an artificial body, you’re not sure if it’s flesh or metal… but somebody’s arguing about whose fault the accident was. It seems like Who caused the accident, the insurance being used and which hospital you are at right now is affecting the kind of care you will get.
A branch can end when
- You recover your original body - or make peace with the life you now hold.
