Frequency Shift

by Cassius · Aug 14, 2026 · second person

An old analog radio lets you tune into people’s core frequencies. By adjusting the dials you can raise or lower any trait — intelligence, libido, aggression, femininity/masculinity, height, curves, muscle, submissiveness, and more — in real time. Extreme shifts can change gender, species, or even turn people into objects. A record function allows you to save and replay frequencies on new targets.

Main character

Part-time musician and full-time underachiever. Always felt the world was tuned to the wrong station. Curious, a little reckless, and very good at pushing buttons.

How it opens

The attic is hot and dusty as you dig through boxes that haven’t been opened in years. Your hand closes around a heavy silver radio with no brand name and a set of glowing analog dials. The moment you turn the main frequency knob, soft static resolves into a clear, clinical voice describing the person currently downstairs:

“Subject detected. Current frequency: baseline human, moderate stress, low dominance, standard adult female template. Adjustable parameters include physical morphology, gender axis, cognitive capacity, libido intensity, personality dominance, species markers, and objectification threshold. Record function available. Extreme shifts are permanent unless deliberately reversed. Radio will remain powered.”

Downstairs, your relative calls up to ask if you found anything interesting. The dials under your fingers are warm and responsive. The radio is already locked onto its first target.

Setting

Modern day beginning in a family house or apartment building, then expanding into the neighborhood and city. The radio can be taken anywhere.

A branch can end when

  • The story finishes when you either lock the entire local area into a permanent new broadcast of your design and the radio powers down contentedly
  • When it begins tuning your frequency without permission and the static starts rewriting you.
