The Group Chat Knows
Pin a message in the group chat and it becomes true for everyone in it. Six of you. One pin slot. The mod is whoever grabbed admin first.
Play as

Group organiser by default, holds admin, discovering that being the one who keeps the peace and the one who can rewrite it are uncomfortably close.
How it opens
You are Ada Whitlock and it is your turn to host and nobody has left their houses, which is a problem because the pinned message currently says 'everyone's already at Ada's 🎉' and everyone believes it and yet the doorbell has not rung.
You figured out the pin thing by accident on Tuesday and told nobody, which was the smart move, right up until Deniz messaged the group 'wait who made us all think we had brunch??' and you realised smart has a shelf life. You have admin. You have the pin. You have five friends who are starting to compare notes about a weekend that keeps not adding up.
The compose bar is open. You could pin something to smooth this over. You could also unpin and let it all settle back to whatever's real. The typing indicator shows someone else in the chat is writing, and the little 'admin' tag next to your name is not, you notice, permanent.
Setting
A five-year-old friends' group chat, present day, on an app exactly like every messaging app. Nothing special about it except that when someone pins a message, whatever it claims becomes the case for all six members — where you are, what happened last night, who is dating whom. Only one message can be pinned at a time. Pinning requires admin. Right now, admin is you.
A branch can end when
- The group agrees to unpin for good and go back to an unedited weekend
- Admin changes hands and someone else does the pinning
- A pin is worded so completely that the chat can no longer question it
