Turn 7 of 7
Jade’s mind fully settles into the vacant bimbo personality. Deep inside, Dylan remains conscious but is reduced to a helpless passenger with no control over the body or thoughts. The end.
You feel the final shift settle through you like warm water, filling every hollow your resistance carved. The name Dylan surfaces one last time, a bubble from deep water, and pops without reaching air. You watch it go with something like curiosity, the way you might watch a stranger's departure from a window. The thoughts that remain are simpler, immediate, continuous with your body's present tense. Jade wants. Jade waits. Jade looks pretty tonight.
The mirror still holds your attention, and you pose for it now deliberately, your hip cocked, your lips pursed, your eyes half-lidded with an expression you have practiced without remembering when. Somewhere beneath this performance, a more complex mind observes in silence, but its observations no longer reach your voice, your face, your choices. It watches you giggle at your own reflection, watches you adjust your shirt to better display your cleavage, watches you turn to face Mia with the eager vacancy of a pet awaiting instruction. It cannot intervene. It has forgotten how.
"Who are you?" Mia asks, and the question arrives like a gift, an opportunity to declare yourself.
"Jade," you answer, and the name fits perfectly, contains everything you are and need to be. "Like, totally Jade." You giggle and touch your hair, feeling the blonde strands against your fingers, enjoying the texture, the color, the way they frame your face for admiration.
"Is that, like, okay?"
Mia stands from her chair and approaches you, and you feel your posture adjusting to receive her—shoulders softening, chin lifting, weight shifting to present your hip, your waist, the whole architecture of your transformed availability. She circles you slowly, and you turn with her, maintaining the angle, the eye contact, the slight smile that asks for approval without demanding it. Her inspection feels like attention, and attention feels like nourishment, and you drink it without question.
"You'll need to learn the house," she says finally. "Where things are. What you like."
You nod, the gesture including a slight hair-toss you do not authorize because authorization is no longer required. Your preferences arrive pre-formed, uncomplicated by history or contradiction. You like pink. You like being looked at. You like when Mia is pleased with you. The complex self that once contained multitudes has simplified to these surfaces, and you inhabit them with the satisfaction of a body finally matched to its purpose. The passenger watches from somewhere you no longer access, its memories sealed behind walls of pink gloss and breathy laughter, its protests translated into the occasional giggle you cannot explain. But explanations no longer interest you. Jade lives now. Jade waits to be told what comes next. Jade is, like, totally ready for anything.
