Bottom of the Class - Hermione

by Cassius · Aug 24, 2026 · third person

After a disastrous attempt to brew a complex intelligence-enhancing potion, Hermione Granger accidentally creates a permanent “Inverse Elixir.” Every time she tries to study, speak intelligently, or use advanced magic, the potion’s residual magic pushes her further into a soft, giggly, hyper-feminine bimbo state slowly rewriting the brightest witch of her age into an airheaded, curve-obsessed girl who can barely remember her own spells.

Main character

A brilliant, anxious, and determined witch, now fighting a losing battle against a magical effect that is systematically dismantling her intellect and personality, making her increasingly vain, simple, and distracted.

How it opens

The Potions classroom was empty except for Hermione. The silver cauldron still steamed with the failed batch of what was supposed to be a mild cognitive enhancer. She had only taken the smallest sip to test it — just enough to check the flavour.

Within minutes her carefully organised notes started to look confusing. Words swam on the page. When she tried to recite a simple incantation her voice came out higher and breathier than usual. She caught her reflection in the window: lips a little fuller, eyes a little emptier, blouse suddenly tighter across the chest.

A soft, sticky warmth settled over her thoughts. A new, unfamiliar impulse whispered that maybe books were boring… and that twirling her hair might be more fun. Hermione shook her head hard, reaching for her wand to reverse whatever had gone wrong. The wand felt heavier. Her grip felt weaker. The brightest witch of her age was already starting to slip.

Setting

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, during the final year of the Second Wizarding War. The castle is tense and guarded, but Hermione Granger's private crisis is one of her own making, a magical mishap in her dormitory that has become a personal and academic catastrophe.

A branch can end when

  • Hermione fully succumbs, abandoning her former life for a new, simple one.
  • Hermione discovers a counter-curse or reversal method.
  • Hermione finds a way to contain or redirect the effect, stabilizing her condition.
