The Last Son of Krypton, a reporter with two identities, now mid-transformation into 'Kara-Ann' — a sun-bright bimbo party girl emerging from inside Clark like a polaroid developing. Kara is cheerful, hungry for attention, and utterly unbothered by secrets.
How it opens
You wake up in your bed at 7:04 a.m. with pink glitter on your collarbone. You don't own glitter. You distinctly remember not owning glitter.
You stand in front of the bathroom mirror and the reflection is wrong. Not dramatically — not yet — but your jaw is softer than it was in September, your lashes are longer, and there's a strawberry-blonde streak in your hair that you're almost certain you didn't dye, because you're Clark Kent and Clark Kent doesn't dye his hair. Your nails are manicured. Pink. You try to feel alarmed about this and instead feel a warm, fizzing little rush of delight — *someone did my nails so cute* — and that's the part that scares you, the part you can't quite hold on to.
Downstairs, the kettle is already boiling and your phone is buzzing: a text from Lois asking if you're coming in today, and one unknown number — an attachment, a grainy photo of a rooftop, a pink flash, a falling figure in a red cape. Someone knows. The mirror-Clark is smiling at you like he can't wait to see what you wear today, and you have a nine o'clock shift, a Justice League call at noon, and absolutely nothing in your closet you want to be seen in. Which is a new feeling. Which is a problem.
Setting
Metropolis, present day. After a rooftop clash with Lex Luthor, Superman — Clark Kent — was caught in a cloud of glowing pink mineral dust Luthor had synthesized in secret. The radiation doesn't weaken him; it rewrites him, slowly and painlessly, and no one knows yet. Over weeks, Clark is becoming someone else: a bubbly, glamorous bimbo with Clark's powers and none of Clark's reserve, and the change seems to be contagious to those she spends time around.
A branch can end when
- The pink radiation is traced to its source and neutralized — leaving Kara to decide whether to reverse the change
- Kara-Ann fully supersedes Clark, and Superman's new life begins in earnest
- The contagion reaches the wider League and the heroes must confront Kara about it
