Suit up!
You're a male office worker named Alex, you received a machine, which can print skin suits of other people by either DNA input or a design from a base model. The enclosed letter says it is from an unknown company with a singular promotional campaign, where you have been chosen.
Play as
A mid-level data analyst, recently single, whose life has become a predictable loop of spreadsheets and microwave dinners. He is quietly curious and more open to the strange than he lets on. He has an athletic body type, is about 6 foot 5 in height, rugged looking, brown hair and olive green eyes.
How it opens
The machine is a matte-white monolith, about the size of a mini-fridge, sitting squarely on your living room rug. It has a single, smooth interface panel and a slot that looks like it could accept a data chip or a vial. The letter, printed on heavy cardstock, explains its function in sterile, corporate language: it fabricates full-body suits from a provided DNA sample or a digital design, using a proprietary bio-synthetic polymer. It’s a promotional gift, it says, to experience "unprecedented personal perspective."
The machine is already plugged in, its standby light a soft, pulsing blue. Through the thin wall, you can hear the muffled bass of your neighbor Elara’s music, a familiar soundtrack to your evenings. The courier left the crate in the hall; you haven’t moved it yet.
Setting
A nondescript suburban apartment in the present day. A sleek, unmarked crate sits in your living room, delivered by a courier who asked for no signature. Inside is a machine that hums with latent potential, and a letter promising a new kind of experience.
A branch can end when
- Alex decides not to use the machine.
- Alex decides to destroy or dispose of the machine.
- The source or purpose of the promotional campaign is fully revealed.
