How it opens
You stare at your reflection in the bathroom mirror, but the face looking back is a stranger. The glasses are gone, replaced by colored contacts that make your eyes look impossibly wide. Your hair, once a practical bob, is now a cascade of blonde waves. The tight, low-cut top you're wearing feels alien against your skin, and you can't remember choosing it. A notification chimes from the phone in your hand—the app's icon pulses with a soft, pink glow. It's the source of all this.
The source of the whispers in the hallway, the sudden invitations to parties, the way people now look at you. It's thrilling and terrifying in equal measure. The bell for first period rings, and you hear the chatter of students in the hall. You have a choice to make about how to walk out that door.
