The Island
Alexander Vane is a 25-year-old billionaire—jacked, blond-haired, blue-eyed, brilliant, and obsessively ambitious. He owns a secluded private island that serves as both an ultra-exclusive resort for celebrities, influencers, and models and the hidden headquarters of his biotechnology empire. Beneath the island is a massive laboratory where Alexander pioneers nanobots, genetic engineering, regenerative medicine, and experimental human enhancement. His technology can heal injuries, alter physical traits, slow aging, and eventually make human biology almost completely programmable. At first, guests come for privacy, luxury, and cutting-edge treatments. But as Alexander’s breakthroughs become more powerful, the island begins attracting the attention of governments, corporations, and wealthy elites—and Alexander starts pushing the boundary between improving humanity and redesigning it entirely.

How it opens
The helicopter came in low over the water.
From the air, Elysium looked almost unreal—white beaches wrapped around dense green jungle, black cliffs rising from the sea, and a sprawling modern estate built into the highest ridge of the island. Glass terraces caught the afternoon sun. A yacht sat anchored in the bay below. Farther inland, partially hidden by the mountain, a collection of sleek white buildings disappeared beneath the canopy.
Brielle Hart had been filming for the last five minutes.
“Oh my God,” she said into her phone, turning toward the window. “You guys have no idea where I am right now.”
Across from her, Seraphina Vale didn’t bother looking up.
“You know they collect your phone when we land, right?”
Brielle lowered it.
“What?”
Seraphina finally glanced at her.
“Alexander doesn’t allow guests to post from the island without approval.”
Brielle stared at the screen as though it had personally betrayed her.
“Then why invite influencers?”
A faint smile touched Seraphina’s lips.
“Maybe he likes watching them suffer.”
The helicopter settled onto a circular landing pad overlooking the ocean.
Brielle checked herself in the reflection of the window for perhaps the tenth time.
Twenty-three, blonde, tanned, and almost aggressively pretty, she had built an audience of millions largely by understanding exactly how she looked from every possible angle.
Today she had spent nearly two hours deciding what would appear effortless.
Seraphina had spent twenty minutes.
That irritated Brielle more than she wanted to admit.
At twenty-four, Seraphina Vale was already being discussed as one of Hollywood’s fastest-rising actresses. Dark-haired, elegant, and composed, she possessed the particular kind of beauty that photographers described as timeless and other actresses privately described with considerably less flattering words.
The helicopter door opened.
Warm ocean air flooded the cabin.
And Alexander Vane was waiting outside.
Brielle stopped moving.
She had seen photographs.
They hadn’t been particularly useful.
Alexander was twenty-five, though the way people spoke about him made him sound considerably older. He stood a little apart from the security personnel waiting near the landing pad, wearing a fitted white polo, dark trousers, and sunglasses.
Blond hair.
Broad shoulders.
The physique of someone who clearly considered gyms a daily obligation rather than a hobby.
He removed his sunglasses as they approached.
Blue eyes.
Brielle immediately forgot whatever greeting she had rehearsed.
Alexander extended his hand to Seraphina first.
“Seraphina Vale.”
“Alexander.”
Her smile was perfect.
Not too eager.
Not too cold.
“I was beginning to think the island was exaggerated.”
Alexander glanced toward the sprawling coastline below them.
“Disappointed?”
“Ask me again in a week.”
His expression shifted slightly.
Amusement.
Interesting, Seraphina thought.
Then Alexander turned toward Brielle.
“Brielle.”
She beamed.
“Hi.”
A pause.
Brielle recovered.
“Sorry. Hi. Alexander. Obviously.”
Seraphina looked toward the ocean to hide her smile.
Alexander did not.
“Obviously.”
Brielle laughed.
A little too loudly.
Then Alexander smiled, and somehow that made it worse.
“Welcome to Elysium.”
He started toward the path leading away from the landing pad.
Brielle hurried after him.
Seraphina followed at a more deliberate pace.
The estate revealed itself gradually as they walked.
There were no obvious roads.
Instead, stone pathways curved through tropical gardens toward villas scattered along the hillside. Waterfalls spilled into narrow pools. Glass walls disappeared into the landscape. Staff moved quietly through the grounds in pale uniforms.
Everything looked expensive.
Not ostentatiously expensive.
Something worse.
The kind of expensive that no longer needed to advertise itself.
Brielle walked beside Alexander.
“So how much did this place cost?”
Seraphina closed her eyes briefly.
