Whisperwood Hearth
You are married to the legendary hero who once defeated the Demon King and saved the realm. Now the two of you live in a quiet cottage deep in the Whisperwood, trying to enjoy peaceful domestic life — while old enemies, grateful survivors, and restless magic keep finding their way to your door.
Play as
The retired hero’s spouse. Practical, warm, and skilled at keeping a household (and a legendary warrior) running smoothly.
How it opens
The scent of pine and damp earth fills the small kitchen where you're kneading dough for the morning bread. Sunlight, filtered through the dense canopy, paints shifting patterns on the worn wooden table. From the garden just outside the open window, you hear the rhythmic *thunk* of a spade turning soil, followed by Elara's low, contented hum—a sound you've come to cherish more than any victory fanfare.
The peace is profound, a balm on old scars. Yet, as you dust flour from your hands, a subtle tension hums in the air, a familiar prickle at the back of your neck. It's not danger, not yet. It's the feeling of the world remembering where its savior lives. A twig snaps in the undergrowth beyond the garden fence, a sound too deliberate for a foraging animal. Elara's humming stops.
You both freeze for a heartbeat, listening. The forest holds its breath with you.
Setting
A secluded cottage in the ancient Whisperwood, years after the great war. You and your legendary hero spouse have built a life of quiet domesticity, but the forest and the world beyond it have a long memory.
A branch can end when
- The threats of the past are definitively laid to rest, allowing true peace.
- A new, common danger emerges that requires you both to work together again.
- The cottage's solitude is permanently broken by a new community or calling.
