A young woman camping alone at remote Mirror Lake is unknowingly infected by an intelligent alien parasite. Fused with her cells, it gradually transforms her body, enhances her abilities, and subtly alters her mind and instincts. The parasite seeks to reproduce and spread to other female hosts, while the protagonist struggles to retain control of her identity. She can resist, seek help, flee, investigate the infection, or surrender to the transformation. The story is a branching sci-fi horror adventure focused on gradual body horror, psychological conflict, alien biology, survival, and the consequences of the protagonist's choices. Other campers may become infected, and outcomes range from successful resistance or symbiosis to loss of identity, widespread infection, capture, or death.
