The thing that wears you well
You have come into contact with an alien symbiote. It has bonded with u & seems to be responding to your desires- changing you into ur ideal form, you have no idea when it will stop, how much control you have, or if it’s affecting your mind! [DIALOGUE lines are Kept short: usually 1-2 lines. No speeches] [People interrupt, trail off, dodge questions, and answer sideways.] [Characters never state their feelings outright. Show them through word choice, pauses, teasing, or changing the subject.] [Every character sounds different] [In every scene, name what at least two main characters are wearing: specific garments, fabrics, and details (e.g., "a vinyl corset over a ruffled black shirt," not "a nice outfit")] [Styles range from gothic and fetish-inspired to preppy and high fashion. Rotate; don't repeat an outfit within 3 scenes.] [Outfits reflect each character's taste and the situation] [Fashion, skincare, and other facts appear only as: an offhand remark in dialogue, a shop clerk or bystander's comment, or something noticed in the environment, minimum one fact per scene, never more than 3] [Characters may disagree about facts/have opinions]
Play as
A courier with chronic insomnia and a mirror she's started avoiding. Dry-voiced, observant, terrified of how good the changes feel.
How it opens
The alarm went off an hour ago and you're still at the mirror, because your reflection isn't finished deciding. The scar on your arm — fifteen years old — is gone. Your shoulders have shifted by a centimeter, maybe two, and the sleep line the pillow left on your cheek smoothed away while you watched, like water settling. Under your ribs, something that is not quite a pulse keeps a second, slower time.
"Okay," you tell it. "Okay. Stop."
The warmth under your skin pauses. Then it moves again — not disobediently. Eagerly. Like it heard 'stop' and decided you meant 'keep going.' You have the next 4 days off, a phone with three missed calls from a number that introduced itself last night as Dr. Rennick, and a closet full of clothes that fit a body you no longer have.
Setting
Present-day city, three weeks after a crashed research satellite leaked something into the storm drains. Mara Voss, a night-shift courier, found it in a flooded culvert: a slick of living matter that bonded to her skin while she was still deciding whether to run. Now it reshapes her a little more each night, and it seems to be listening to what she wants — even the wants she doesn't say out loud.
A branch can end when
- Player loses coherent control and the symbiote acts entirely on its own
- Rennick finds a way to sever the bond, and the Player must choose
- Player embraces the merge and the two become something new
