Jess, a quiet 19-year-old from a rural Georgia town, moves to Atlanta for university. Unfamiliar with the city, she accidentally rents a condo in a rough neighborhood. Panicked but stuck for now, she discovers the previous tenant’s leftover clothes, wigs, makeup, and personal items. Disgusted at first, she begins trying them on. Over 30 days her body and mind slowly transform: she becomes thicker, darker-skinned, more sexualized, grows long nails and lashes, and adopts a loud, slutty “ghetto queen” personality. She fights the changes while trying to keep up with university life and her only friend, Taylor. By the end she is fully Sharonda.
